Well we made it here. And today was an adventure.
My buddy Jean and I went for a ride on the course. And then got lost! I emailed my Dad & Bre, but they couldn’t really help me. We stopped and I asked a police man. He was trying to help me. Luckily Eric was driving by with the hand bikes and saw us and stopped and gave us a ride back to the hotel. So now we are back at the hotel and everything is good and we are ready to party.
My road race is Saturday. It’s 48 km.
Time trial is Sunday and it’s 21 km.
Here is the website for the races – its a bit confusing though. http://www.piacenzaparacycling.com

Well I just heard from Brayden and he had some great news to share – he will be going to Piacenza, Italy to compete in the Trofeo Internazionale Piacenza (Road Race & Time Trial) at the end of July! They announced the team today and he’s part of it.
YAY BRAYDEN!!!

Well I got an update from my Dad – here’s what he had to say:
It was a photo finish (we are getting a copy e-mailed to us). Brayden broke away from the pack with 20km to go, and held a lead until about 5km, when the pack finally caught him. He was very smart and tucked in behind peleton, then dueled it out with Jean over the last 500m, just nipping him at the wire to win.
Sounds very exciting! We’ll post the picture whenever we get it. Woo hoo Brayden!!!

Tandems were – Alex & Daniel in 1st, Stephane & PO in 2nd, Brian & Devon in 3rd.

Well, I heard from my Dad yesterday after Brayden’s race. He rode a 20km Time Trial – his time was 36:09 and he finished 3rd. Jean finished 2nd and a new girl finished 1st. It’s a bit rainy there, but not too bad.
Brayden races again tomorrow in the Road Race – but I’m out of town, so I don’t know that this will be updated. We will try!
